Workday Sr. Finance Analyst / Finance Systems Analyst IV / Sr. Financial Systems Analyst
"Primary focus: bridging finance processes and Workday Finance (plus other integrated systems)"
Primary Objectives
Identify, analyze, and solve finance process and system gaps in an environment where stakeholders often lack clarity on what they need or why they need it.
Own tasks end to end: gather and clarify requirements (even if they’re incomplete), follow up with stakeholders, document processes meticulously, produce training materials, and ensure each deliverable is completed.
Key Environment Notes
We use Workday Finance and HCM as our central ERP with integrations to other finance tools/systems (e.g. Adaptive, Kyriba, Zuora, FinancialForce (now Certinia), Salesforce (aka. SFDC)).
Finance, Operations, and other key stakeholders often cannot articulate comprehensive or enterprise-wide requirements, so the analyst must ask targeted questions and leverage finance/accounting or business operations knowledge to uncover what truly matters.
This is a globa l role (Americas, Europe, APAC, Africa), requiring comfort with remote collaboration and cultural nuances
Work Style
Highly proactive, able to work through ambiguity.
Uses finance knowledge to identify “must-have” requirements vs. “nice-to-have” requests.
Detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders who might not see the big picture.
Must Have Qualit ies:
Proactive Ownership & Follow-Through
Must drive projects forward, even when requirements are vague or stakeholders aren’t respon sive. Finance/Accounting Knowledge (Moderate De pth)*Critical to fill in the gaps when stakeholders can’t articulate finance requirements clearly.
Should understand how accounting concepts (e.g., GL, accruals, IFRS, cost centers) factor into enterprise systems.
Detail Orientation & Documentation Skills
The analyst must carefully document every discovered requirement, assumption, or decision to prevent rework
Strong & Clear Communication
Must be comfortable asking foundational or clarifying ambiguous needs
“Get Stuff Done” Mindset
Goes hand in hand with ownership but also includes being relentless about uncovering missing information and seeing tasks through to completion
