Role: Systems Administrator

Shift schedule: 5-day work week, 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Philippine Time

Responsibilities / Job Duties

1. UNIX/Linux Environment Management

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot UNIX/Linux-based systems.

• Ensure the availability and stability of these environments.

2. Server Administration

• Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers.

• Implement security measures and perform routine updates.

3. Application Stack Management

• Administer application stacks like Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, and NGINX.

• Optimize performance across these platforms.

4. Cloud Services

• Deploy and manage cloud services, with a preference for experience in Azure.

• Maintain and monitor cloud-based infrastructure.

5. Virtualization and Containerization

• Utilize technologies such as VMware and Virtual Box to create and manage virtual environments.

• Implement containerization solutions as needed.

6. Monitoring and Maintenance

• Set up and manage monitoring systems to track infrastructure performance.

• Perform regular OS patching and maintenance tasks to ensure system integrity.

7. Networking

• Troubleshoot and optimize network performance, with a solid understanding of OSI layers and TCP/IP protocols.

• Ensure network security and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with UNIX/Linux system administration.

• Competence in managing both Windows and Linux servers.

• Experience in administering and optimizing application stacks (Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX).

• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Azure.

• Expertise in virtualization (VMware, Virtual Box) and containerization technologies.

• Strong networking knowledge, including OSI layers and TCP/IP.

• Proficiency in system monitoring and OS patch management.
