Your Role
The Product Manager (Deposits) is responsible for the development of new deposit products and services as well as the management of existing deposit products and services including evaluation of products to be added, enhanced, refined, developed or eliminated, development of support resources such as product documentation, manuals and training materials and conduct analysis of the performance of each of the deposit products and services. The role is responsible as well for the crafting of the business strategy by spotting new opportunities and areas of growth with an end goal of increasing revenue and profitability.
Your Impact
Performs annual detailed product reviews
Conducts annual market scans to ensure that products remain relevant and competitive
Initiate or coordinate process flow improvements to support business growth but within the boundaries of the Bank’s policies and guidelines
Identifies new products, or enhancement to existing products, that will result in: increasing new customers, growing incremental business or revenue, increasing customer engagement, or strengthening customer loyalty and stickiness
Liaises with external parties/ third-party providers for the evaluation, selection, testing, execution, documentation and management of new ideas, tools, services and solutions
Liaises with relevant internal stakeholders and will oversee the creation of the Business Requirement Document (BRD), for development and enhancements needed to be done for current processes or systems
Coordinates with IT on project updates and timelines
Ensures that compliance to regulatory and risk management requirements based on policies and the framework set by the Bank and regulators are adhered to
Annually reviews and updates policy and process documents such as, but not limited to, the Product Development Assessment (PDA), Operations Manuals (OM) and Standard Practice Instructions (SPI) of deposit products
Coordinate with relevant units in addressing cited issues and audit exceptions related to the products handled, ensuring quick resolution as per agreed action plans and committed timelines.
Coordinate with relevant units in socializing cited issues and audit exceptions to prevent recurrence in other products, business units and coverage areas
Conducts Quality Assurance (QA) checks within the product life-cycle model of the products handled, to ensure adherence to approved policies and processes
Your Profile
Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university
At least 1 year work experience in management of deposits or alternative channels
Excellent portfolio analysis
Project management or operational excellence skills
Good product knowledge (deposit products)
Good oral and written communication skills
With advanced skills in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
